We are one of many independent shops & cafes located in Okehampton on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Okehampton is home to a stunning medieval castle and only a 10 minute drive from some of the most stunning scenery in the UK.

Okehampton is now accessible by a 40 minute train journey from Exeter. Also within easy reach of the beautiful beaches of north Devon & north Cornwall.

Chilli Baba grew from our love of travelling throughout India and shopping in its many different and fascinating bazaars and markets. Our stock is personally sourced by us from small, independent family businesses in India. We hand pick the newest styles and choose the best fabric and prints for our clothing to ensure we have something different to offer our customers. We always pay the fair asking price for all items we buy.

We sell a range of alternative, hippy & festival fashion, clothing made from upcycled silk saris, hand crafted silver and gemstone jewellery from Rajasthan, singing bowls & hapi/tongue drums, brass jewellery and macrame jewellery, beautiful scarves, blankets and ponchos, delicious smelling handmade natural soaps with Indian essential oils, beeswax perfume, handmade notebooks made from recycled paper and many other unique and beautiful gifts and accessories from India.

We use tote bags made in India from recycled sari silk instead of plastic carrier bags to lessen our impact on the environment, and our stall and van are solar powered.
We welcome suggestions and comments from customers about our designs and stock and update our stock regularly, with new designs arriving freshly made from India twice a year.
